Deviousness |
1) firing arcs. This vessel's armaments have horrible firing arcs. The secondary guns are constricted, and don't provide good coverage, the main guns are almost entirely in wing turrets that cannot fire to both sides, and it has NOTHING capable of firing directly forward. Just as bad, main guns' elevation is restricted, and cannot protect against attackers overhead, and there is nothing capable of firing on enemies below.
2) unarmored main guns? what is this? At the very least, they could be in an armored barbette, but right now the gun crews are completely exposed. A small flack burst nearby would disable those unprotected main guns in an instant. It's not terribly hard to put high-elevation turrets in place of the open mounts already there.
3) lack of redundancy. Why does this ship have only one rangefinder? Real battleships mount several, in case one is damaged or destroyed. The torpedoes are clustered too close together, so that a single hit (or nearby detonation) could disable an entire broadside.
4) none of the masts are rigged for signal flags. Even modern missile-destroyers are equipped to use signal flags in case of radio loss, so why isn't this ship so equipped?
This model was beautifully modeled and exquisitely detailed, don't get me wrong, but it drives me nuts when an artist tries so hard only to fail the research/planning stage so miserably. If this ship ever seriously tried to fight another aerial battleship, it would get its butt kicked.
Irealy LOVE that design!
love the bow and the styling - especially the cannons!
it looks like its got matrix stylee repulsors on the aft section?
why is the rear on ships always so weekly defended? LOL
EVEN so, i want one! how much? LOL
